Some personal notes on windsurfing.
Harness
- Put the straps first: Front foot, back foot
- Get into the harness: look forward
- Put 50% of your body weight on the harness lines: keep your center low (bend knees if low wind)
- Pull front arm to kill power
Planning
- Steer with the mast! Small movements
- Pull front hand to release (kill) power
- Push with your heels, not with the thoes!
Fast Tack
- Front foot in front of the mast
- Three arm steps and three foot steps: forward, cross, flip
- Extend your new front arm
- keep the rig away
Jibe
- Body weight on the the tail
- Keep boom close to your chest (bent arms)
- There is a short moment with maximum sail surface
Water-Start
- only back foot on board
- keep body center low
- hands together (shoulder width) and straight (max lift)
